Each variety is picked and processed separately. Embracing the minimal intervention approach in the cellar, hand-harvested grapes were destemmed and spontaneously fermented in open-top fermenters. 19-24 day maceration. The wines is aged for 14-18 months in used French oak barrels, and then blended before bottling, unfiltered.
The nose pops with a harmonious blend of pepper and spices from the Syrah and vibrant black fruits from the Blaufrankisch. The palate is full and elegant with black fruits and spice, but lifted with balanced acidity and soft tannins. Truly a beautiful blend and distinctive for this remarkable region's history of winemaking.
