François Gilles farms 4 hectares on the steep slopes of the French Alps, just south of Geneva. He farms organically, using many biodynamic practices, and the vines are surrounded by woods, mountain streams and meadows. That special setting, and upbringing-if you will, translates into magical wines. Here, the Gamay has a dark, clearly alpine quality with crunchy bitter herbs, a hint of charred tannin and savory dark, brambly berry.
