The Domaine de Ferrand Côtes du Rhône Mistral is a red wine with a medium body, hailing from the southern Rhône Valley. The name `Mistral` pays homage to the prevalent northern wind in the region. Crafted from organically cultivated vines, ranging from young to 40 years old, primarily Grenache, with some of the oldest vines owned by vigneron Philippe Bravay. These vineyards are situated on sandy slopes between Châteauneuf and Orange. Philippe selectively destems 10-50% of the grapes based on the vintage. The vinification and ageing take place in concrete tanks, without racking or blending, and sulphur is abstained from until the bottling stage.
This cuvée is characterized by a subtle combination of spices, freshness and fruity notes. The bouquet reveals aromas of cherries, white pepper and red hibiscus flowers, brightening up the taster's palate. On the palate, the wine is particularly accessible, offering a pleasant juiciness and an appreciable freshness. The flavours evoke blood oranges, rose hips and cloves.
