A seemingly endless winding road takes you past various postcard-worthy views through the hamlet of Parafada towards Gabutti, home of the Boasso's, a winery that has improved enormously in quality in recent years. Namesake and winegrower Franco, together with his sons Ezio and Claudio, has managed to take his Barolos to a higher level. Certainly helped by the fact that these come from the famous Gabutti, Margheria and Lazzarito vineyards. Important crus in Serralunga for many years.
In addition to the cantina producing 30,000 bottles of wine, the family manages an agriturismo, which, like his private house, is located in the middle of the two vineyards Gabutti and Gabutti-Marianot, a stone's throw from Serralunga.
Since the moment they bottled under their own label, the Boasso winery has been working in the traditional way, i.e. a long period of maceration and fermentation and maturation of at least 36 months in large wooden barrels (bott).
