An excellent alternative to Sancerre! The 2022 Quincy from Philippe Portier is a beautiful example of this underrated appellation. The bouquet is bright, ripe and complex, jumping from the glass in a blaze of gooseberry, fresh lime, newly-mown grass, chalky soil tones, lime blossoms and a touch of citrus peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused, complex and rock solid at the core, with lovely soil signature, zesty acids and excellent balance on the long and complex finish. This is first rate Quincy! 2023-2030."
Certified HVE (Sustainable). 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Following the devastation of phylloxera, QUINCY was the first of the Centre-Loire vineyards to reach AOC status. Phillippe Portier is the fourth generation of his family in the village of Brinay. In 1985, he took over the family business, and 6 years later created his own vineyards in the Quincy. The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented naturally and aged on the fine lees before bottling.
