Talley Vineyards, established by Don and Rosemary Talley in 1982, is a renowned winery situated in the Arroyo Grande Valley on California’s Central Coast. The vineyard’s history is deeply intertwined with the Talley family’s agricultural roots, which began in 1948 when Oliver Talley founded Talley Farms. Initially focused on vegetable farming, the Talleys diversified into viticulture, planting their first grapevines in the early 1980s. This move laid the foundation for what would become one of the region’s most esteemed wine producers.
The proximity of these vineyards to the Pacific Ocean provides a cool climate, ideal for growing premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The unique combination of marine-influenced weather and diverse soil types, such as marine sedimentary and clay, contribute to the distinct character of Talley’s wines.
"A beautiful bright ruby from Talley's estate vineyards, this Pinot Noir is a delicious melange of ripe red berries and savoury dried herbs.‡aomas of smoky rose petals and gravelly dust compliment a dried strawberry leather character. The palate shows bright red berry flavours, spicy and savoury elements of chicory root and mouthfuls of flowery lavender character."
