The first Dolcetto d'Ovada to be awarded Tre Bicchiere by Gambero Rosso, this opulent take on Piedmont's unsung hero has now received the coveted nod an impressive 13 years in a row! After a complex nose of dark cherry, anise, and earth spice, the luxurious palate offers up an array of dark fruits and soft, integrated tannins. SW exposure, higher altitude, and rich calcareous soils all contribute to the character of this wine, as does Tacchino's use of the rare "nibiu" clone of Dolcetto - which tends to yield less, but riper, more concentrated juice. 

Meticulous, thoughtful, and full of joy, 3rd generation Dolcetto masters Romina Tacchino and her brother Alessio work side by side in the high, green hills of Alto Monferrato. Subtle, subalpine aromatics tend to belie complex, powerhouse palates bursting with flavor. 

Grapes dry farmed and hand picked.  Red calcareous clay soil.  In steel for 8 months and in bottle 36 months.
